The Sprout Therapeutic Riding Center non-profit provides therapy by forging connections between people and horses in the Alexandria area. The center creates programs to promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth, works with volunteers to take care of the horses, and collects donations so students can afford Sprout therapy. Project Horse

Project Horse offers therapy services for individuals, families, and groups. They also collaborate with therapists and psychiatrists if necessary to create further treatment goals. CLYFL is a non-profit organization that was established over 50 years ago. They give children in the Loudoun and Leesburg areas the opportunity to learn more about good sportsmanship and teamwork with a good ol’ game of football. Inspired by the courage and determination of Mathias, a boy who battled osteosarcoma, Team Mathias strives to bring awareness to the underfunding of pediatric cancer research, as well as outdated treatments. STBW uses South American training techniques to train both individuals and teams. They offer Futsal training as part of their winter program, as well as summer camps designed and run by Gustavo Donolo — a former professional soccer player.

Girls on the Run

GOTR NOVA encourages girls to live happier and healthier lifestyles through research-based curricula that involve discussion, activities, and running. The program lasts for ten weeks and prepares the girls for a celebratory 5k event. Throughout the program, the girls learn confidence, character, care, and other traits to help them grow and succeed.

Dubs at the Lake & Dubs at the Gap

Dubs at the Lake is a VW, Audi, and Porsche event that was held on May 19, 2019 at the Garrett County Fairgrounds in McHenry, MD. Dubs at the Gap showcased VW air/water-cooled, Audi, and Porsche vehicles on September 22, 2019 at Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, MD. Both shows benefited the Allegany County Animal Shelter of Cumberland, MD, so be sure to check them out!

Carz Cruizin to Cure Cancer is an annual auto show/charity event that showcases classic and vintage cars, as well as custom cars, trucks, bikes. The show benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Erin Peterson Fund

The Virginia Tech tragedy on April 16, 2007 claimed many lives, including the life of Erin Peterson — a freshman who majored in International Studies. The Erin Peterson Fund honors her life and legacy. The organization has given away over $200,000 in scholarships and grants to help those with Erin’s passion for learning achieve their goals.

Bike to the Beach has raised about 3 million dollars and helped spread Autism awareness throughout the country. The Maryland Ride for Autism & disABILITIES included scenic 100, 50, and 25-mile routes.

Ryan Bartel Foundation

The Ryan Bartel Foundation was founded in remembrance of Ryan Bartel, who took his own life on October 15, 2014, at the age of 17. Ryan struggled with low self-esteem and bullying and often reached out to others who didn’t quite “fit in.” The foundation offers a variety of programs and activities to support others who relate to Ryan’s story, including a student-led peer-to-peer program.
