The all-new 2018 Tiguan is longer than the 2017 model, adding flexible third-row seating and standard seating for up to seven passengers on some models. Let’s explore more changes.
Interior changes to the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan
The interior of the 2018 Tiguan has been completely changed. With new cloth seat designs, there’s more standard luxury on every new Tiguan model. New technology features inside the cabin include the optional Volkswagen Digital Cockpit display, providing drivers with a different look at the data center and navigation routes.
Like the 2017 model, the 2018 Tiguan is available with Volkswagen Car-Net® that provides a host of connectivity options like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MirrorLink. The Fender Premium Audio System, not available on the 2017 Tiguan, is now available as an optional feature on the 2018 model.
The 2018 Tiguan also features more driver assistance technology. A rearview camera will come standard on the all-new crossover, along with:
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist) with Pedestrian Monitoring
- Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert
- Lane Departure Warning (Lane Assist)
2018 Tiguan powertrain changes
The all-new 2018 Tiguan engine also gets an update! This Tiguan will be powered by an updated version of the old 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, making 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque.
